I’m lying to you..

If I say I’m all prep and ready to birth. Who is?!! I’m actually embracing my fear, a little too much in fact. On one of the nights last last week, I have suddenly confessed to the husband that I am worried and scared of childbirth. I have been hiding my fear with pretty toddler apparel purchases and the thought of bean directly in my arms that I have been skipping the gory glory parts of it – the process […]

Sleepless night is only the beginning.

Last night’s insomnia was really bad. Coupled with the scissors kicks from Bruce Lee wannabe in my tummy, I believed I slept closed to 5am with an hourly interval trip to the washroom. I knew I had to take time off today from work but with the 5 days off I’ve had last week, I’ve requested to work from home instead. Closing to EDD I could actually feel that my organs are being squashed. I get shortages of breath easily […]

Third trimester, here we go!

So two days back we went to our gynae for the follow up and the checkup went well. Bean currently weighs 1.1kg out of the 9kg weight gained on me. Most people who learnt that I’m actually 6 months pregnant were shock to see what small bump I have. But in fact, 1.1kg is a healthy weight for the little one at this stage. The growth spurt from hereon will bring us to a healthy 2-3kg, the best ideal weight […]

We are Chinese!

You know how my Chinese name goes by the initial TYZ? My surname is Tan and my husband’s is Toh. He tried finding a name that coincides with what I have, which was pretty sweet of him. But the name he came up with was just too traditional for me to accept. I made noises and said bean doesn’t like it either. ^^ The name reminds me of someone who acts in those traditional movies where women binds their feet […]

Today I am going to talk about…

MEN. and Delivering Babies. I’ve totally no love for men who determine (and made that a final option) on how their pregnant wives should deliver their babies. From all the stories I’ve heard, one of the worst I’ve heard thus far was that this man thinks that, if the wife go ahead with epidural during natural birth, she is not a real woman who has experienced child birthing. I thought it was pretty nonsensical that his entire family thinks the […]

The beginning of aches.

Bean currently weighs 700g while I’ve conveniently put on about 7kg. You can’t tell where that 7kg went to and I can’t tell you how much I’m aching all over, especially my feet. Just standing a mere 15 mins or waiting for a 6 mins train to arrive is almost taking my life. That doesn’t work well that I have close to zero patience. I haven’t had the luxury of time to blog about any updates for the last two […]

My shaped up tummy.

On some mornings, bean makes the day by planting a wide smile in my face. She really didn’t have to do much. All she did was to ‘curl’ up in my tummy. Maybe it’s me who indirectly forced her to curl like that by sleeping on my sides and rotating every few hours (now you can guess how little sleep I get daily). But when I wake and see that my tummy has become so….compact. I really have to give […]
