2016.

It’s been awhile. I have taken some time off my blog to digest some thoughts. But more importantly, I’ve taken time off to spend real quality time with Charley.  Why would I say real? You mean all these time I’ve spent with her wasn’t real? It is! Facing each other all day everyday is definitely being together. But what I really want is to not be preoccupied with other thoughts and things to do; to sit down and play with […]

Learning to know, Learning to fall.

Few weeks ago someone rolled her eyes at me and my daughter in the train. She was a working adult, carrying a twisted balloon which has drawings on it. It was a peak hour train ride at 6.00pm. Perhaps she was thinking that my poor baby was eyeing that balloon but really, Charley was just craving for some sort of attention. However, that’s not what I wanted to talk about today. Call me a strict mum but I believe that […]

What I dislike the most.

The Baby Hogger – I personally think that the only people allowed to hog a baby are their parents. Yes, a baby is meant to be shared in a certain way. But constant hogging of a baby.. Can be quite a pain. I know of a dear friend whose you-know-who hogs her baby and bring the little kid into her own room, close the door and kept the baby off the sight of the mother. Or the scenarios where you […]

Rounding up 2013.

A year has passed in a blink of eye and here’s a summation: My bundle of joy, a baby named Charley. Becoming mum wasn’t something that I’d planned for. I also didnt think that I’ll be the first among my girls to get married and have a baby. From a working married woman to a Stay-At-Home-Mum. I left my job role after maternity to better care for my little one. My parents and in-laws are getting on in age and […]

The thing about Spoonfeeding.

I remembered those days where I was younger and our teachers often spoon feed us with answers. When I was much younger my mum spoon fed me because I couldn’t hold my own utensils yet. But how and when should we stop spoon feeding our young ones? Yes, we all know that we will always remain as our parent’s child even when we turn 50 but honestly there should be a stop to it? An article recently on the Sunday […]

We will stand together hear the lions roar.

So on today’s papers, they had an article on how our new NDP song manages to evoke strong comments from our fellow Singaporeans. Heck, funny clips and parodies were even made weeks after the song aired on wherever. I have to admit the one where they edited Stephen Chow movie snippets into it really strike a laughing chord in me. I don’t really want to put the video up but it’s real easy to google it on Youtube. As a […]

Naming Bean.

These past few weeks we have been trying to decide on a name for bean, both English and Chinese. You may assume that the English name was the easy part but no, apparently we have kind of settled for a chinese name but the english one was quite meh. Initially we have got one in mind…just that very special only name that we both liked. But I’m having second thoughts because of the last name that goes along with it […]

Hunger management.

Bean cannot stand being hungry. It’s like she’s accustomed to eating at all times, snacks or not, and sometimes I think that my temporary add on salary is not gonna be enough to cover the food expenses we’re both chalking up! Sometimes I wake at 4am and secretly munch on those biscuits beside my sleeping husband so as not to wake him up. Come to think about it, I probably could have eaten in the living room as loudly as […]
